Root >What to visit?
The Public Garden
In 1982, the public garden was officially inaugurated and opened to visitors. It comprises a small Roman theatre which can accommodate cultural and educational events. It includes also a stream, several water jets, a corner of games for children, public benches, toboggans, and, especially a beautiful landscape with lots of trees (pines, willows, olive-trees and others) and flowers of varied kinds. The success of the public garden exceeded all the predictions. In a few months, it became an important meeting point, not only for the inhabitants of Zouk Mikaël, but also for the visitors coming from the surrounding cities and villages. Some came even from Beirut to enjoy a walk in nature, in a free and safe way. The paragon of Zouk Mikaël was quickly followed by some cities of Kesrouan. With the peace and the reopening of the Lebanese- Lebanese “borders”, the public garden is today a point of meeting between the various Lebanese communities coming from the four corners of the country.
